A STORY FROM THE WORK

Sometimes a portrait reveals its meaning over time.

A portrait can become a quiet companion, waiting until its subject is ready to recognise what it has been showing them.

Colorful hand-painted Inner Animal Portrait created for a client's San Francisco story

SAN FRANCISCO · THREE YEARS LATER

She was ready for change, but did not yet know what came next.

I once created a portrait for a young woman who had recently moved to San Francisco. She was dissatisfied with her corporate role and curious about trying something new.

She thanked me and left without saying much. Three years later, she contacted me to say that she had finally recognised the truth in what I had seen and shared with her.

Sometimes we need to live through a few more chapters before the meaning of a portrait becomes clear.

What people say

“Experiencing a life painting session with Lihui was a special moment….the painting encapsulates my most precious moments. I am very grateful to have a reflection of myself radiating my most powerful self and vibrating my highest potential.”
Maria Stella LydakiJewellery Designer and Founder
“I went into these sessions not really knowing what coaching even was. It was my first time trying anything like this, but I felt at ease with Lihui right away. I began during a huge shift in my life as I just moved into a new city and started to work on my own, so everything felt a little overwhelming and messy. The sessions became very grounding and they helped me find structure again and move through this transition with more confidence and calm. The sessions also helped me rediscover a creative part of myself that I had kept tucked away for far too long. I’m truly grateful for the warm support and space Lihui created for me.”

“Lihui’s original coaching modality is a powerful tool to gain more clarity on one’s motivation and vision, alongside getting help and accountability for devising one’s own plan to make it happen. She can hold the space for you very well, thanks for her versatile mindset and the fact she is engaged with philosophy. If you hold yourself accountable and respond to Lihui’s questions with honesty, you will get a lot of value for yourself.”
BranislavFounder
“Lihui Liang is unlike any other life coach I’ve encountered. She combines the perceptiveness of a portrait painter, the clarity and tact of a counselor, and the conceptual range of a philosopher. The result is a discipline of attention: she helps you see what you’re actually doing, what you’re capable of doing, and how to bring your creativity into focus without sentimentality or evasion. Her guidance is steady, exacting, and genuinely transformative.”
FrederickPhilosophy Professor at Stanford University
“My experience with Lihui was very calming. She guided me along the path to realising my spiritual self. I think anyone who is struggling to find themselves should give her club a try and you will see how powerful it is.”

Questions you might have

We explore your story, what feels unclear, and what a more authentic next chapter could look like. The conversation shapes the symbolism and direction of your portrait.

Both. Sessions can be held remotely over video call, or in person at my studio in London.

It is uncovered collaboratively through conversation and reflection. It is not selected through a quiz and does not predict your future.

Every portrait is an original 50 × 70 cm canvas, hand-painted in my studio, never printed or AI-generated. It is completed within approximately 5–7 weeks. Shipping is calculated separately, and alternative sizes can be discussed as bespoke commissions.

The investment is £1,500. A 50% deposit reserves your commission, with the remaining balance due before shipping (shipping calculated separately). Three payments spread over three months are available on request. Once your session has taken place and the process has begun, the commission is non-refundable.
